Charmed; are we?

[Lucius Malfoy]

Wearing his hair down Lucius swept up his black cloak and slid his wand into his robes. He'd made sure he ate and had the house elf sent upstairs and than he made his way downstairs in a discreet manner. He than headed towards the front door as he looked at the time. A wry smile went onto his face and he stepped towards the door.

Lucius Malfoy was in one of his unusual moods. It was rare to see an actual smile on his face, but he stood outside the manor on the doorstep awaiting the arrival of Narcissa Malfoy his wife. She was returning from Paris and he made sure he was there for her return. He was actually happy for her return.

Paris was… marvellous. Marvellous and fantastical and beautiful.. ooh Narcissa just wanted to live there FOREVER! Wake up at twelve, have coffee and croissants and chocolate and cheese and wine and grapes and look around and go shopping and stay at various noble’s houses with her friends. Oh it was wonderful. The sun was gleaming and the cool Romanic zephyr woke Narcissa into a world or beautiful civilised culture. But, she had to get back.

Like any mother, Narcissa had a sense of lovingness towards her son. Even if it was an arranged marriage, where Lucius was some years older than her and used to not pay much attention to her when she was younger. But nevertheless she married him and what was that. Ad now she loved him and she loved her son although she disagreed with his upbringing. Nothing hurt more than watching Draco hurt himself and have dobby attend to him whilst she watched from her window. She felt somewhat guilty, jealous and regretful about his childhood. She knew it’d scar him one way or another.

And now, here she was, her face powdered with makeup and her hair piled elegantly. Although she disagreed with Lucius on a daily basis, she was glad to see him and as she apparated by the door, and strode up to her husband before placing two light pecks on his cheek. “Hello dear, how are you?” she asked, although a bit too politely.

At Narcissa's arrival Lucius strode towards her with a wild grin upon his face. He than took her in his arms with a firm hug. It was one of those rare public things that normally didn't happen and Lucius didn't understand why he was acting this way. But none the less it was a marvelous day and Lucius grinned.

"I'm quite well darling. How are you?" he responded with a cool air. That was the way Lucius usually responded to Cissy. She was just like everyone else of pureblood elite and he used the same etiquette with her. He talked with an air of politeness around pureblood elites. It was just second nature to him.

He than opened the front door and held it open for Narcissa smiling. "I'd love to hear all about Paris ma cherie. How was it?" he asked with a grin as he waited for her to enter the manor and head towards the drawing room. He snapped his fingers and their house elf appeared and spoke, "How may I help you master?". "Dobby take the mistress's trunks upstairs," he ordered with a bitter resentment towards the house elf. The house elf left and than Lucius smiled once more at Narcissa.
