Songs Of SUMMER[open] Empty Songs Of SUMMER[open]

It was summer! And no, it wasn’t early summer because if it was, then Astoria would still be gloomy as ever, mourning about the fact that a mere amount of sunlight would seep through the glass panes of her bedroom window. But no, it was June and therefore the middle of summer where the radiant glow of the sunshine would emit a golden-hue on the manor, giving it an overall soft dappled look.

The youngster had leisurely walked out of the house in a slow and legato pace, taking in deep breaths, pleasantly feeling the sensation of a day with its temperature on a higher level. Sure, it wasn’t very hot but still, Tori quite liked the whole effect of a watery sun amongst white and grey clouds with a pale blue sky along masses of vast green nothing and of course, the town a little further off.

At first, Astoria was bored stiff, and she had lulle arund her room, playing with Mr Squid her toy octopus and with Pocky, the ragged furry cat she had received at three days old. Although she was a bit too old for toys, she still loved them. But now, after her parents had let her gain a bit of freedom, she had taken enjoyment travelling around the UK via port-keys. Her dadd didn’t mind, Daffy did it all the time.

Like a cow, she slowly mooched along the hill and unlike a cow, she didn’t stop to eat any grass but she did, for a few seconds glance swiftly at her feet and wondered if the juicy and dew-budding green blades would taste so good, like a horse or sheep or even herbivore dinosaur would show with full enthusiasm.

She was along the outskirts of Ottery St. Catchpole, along the hills and slightly out of sight. She knew there was the Weasley’s who lived further south, and that Lovegood family at the west. Astoria was located in the east. This was a perfect spot for a picnic. She had her red rug, a basket of sandwiches, lemonade and fairy-cakes, and a book. Her hair was tied up with a ribbon again, and she was yet, again, in another sun-dress, but this one was gingham pale yellow. She kicked her shoes off. Astoria, for the first time all day, was eccentric.

Coming amongst a small rock with various patches of daisies strewn over in different directions, she grinned happily. Ah, daisy chains. Placing herself on the rock, she stared at the flower for a full minute. Would it be essential to waste this little patch of green white and yellow for her own amusement? It’s own life? Wait, since when has Astoria been one to question someone’s life? Considering her own life was dead, then why did she have to muse about another’s?

Slowly, she plucked the little flower and stared at it. Well, what now?
